The Challenge
Home to over 10,000 enterprises, predominantly small to micro-sized, Lewisham boasts a diverse business community with 70% independent ownership, two-thirds of which are Black, Asian, or Minority Ethnic proprietors.
Despite the borough maintaining a stable number of enterprises since 2019, the need to invigorate the local economy, generate substantial employment, and attract inward investment was paramount in their Strong Local Economy Strategy.
The Brief:
To catalyse this economic rejuvenation within the Borough, Lewisham Council sought to commission a bespoke marketing programme for 50 local businesses.
They required a consultant with extensive experience providing a range of marketing services such a website audits, social media, branding and marketing strategy creation.
This collaboration was a strategic component of the council's broader initiative to stimulate local commerce, facilitate job creation, and draw fresh investment into the area.
The Results:
So far this partnership has been instrumental in providing Lewisham-based businesses with the tools and insights necessary to navigate an increasingly complex commercial landscape. By leveraging targeted marketing and design expertise, companies have been empowered to enhance their visibility, appeal, and competitive edge.
