INTERVIEW WITH CHRISTABEL

My name is Christabel and I have a blog called Christabel’s Handluggae Tales and release regular podcasts called 1Cuppa 2Sugars.

1. Where does the passion for what you do come from?

My main background is PR and I like writing short stories and ideas in my notebook – I’m also very easily intrigued (my mother says I’m just nosey) I want to always know how someone has does something, so once my friends Kofi and Marie gave me the idea to start a podcast I just ran with it. I thought ‘yes I can sit down with girls over a cuppa and ask how they created xyz – genius!’.

2. How do you bounce back and refocus when $h*T hits the fan?

To me, everyday Sh*t hits the fan, I’ve self diagnosed myself with anxiety because it doesn’t take a lot for me to go into panic mode. I tend to put on the kettle, shut everything out and sit in silence, say a little prayer then rant to my friend Kwasi who gives me a peep talk to bounce back.

3.What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome to achieve what you have?

wouldn’t call it a challenge per say, more of an ‘understanding and accepting’, for example accepting that not everyone I emailed would want to be on 1Cuppa 2Sugars podcast or would even bother to email me back. Also understanding that not your nearest and dearest would listen to your every podcast you upload.

4. If you were given £5 million tomorrow, what would you spend it on?

Woah lol, ermmm I would probably buy a 4 bed in Dulwich, with a garden and study as the area reminds me of Wisteria Lane from Desperate housewives. With the rest I would give my parents and siblings a lump sum each for my sins and having to deal with my erratic behaviour of the years LOL. I would of course save the rest, as that’s what responsible adults do right?

5. If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?

Beyonce of course! I know everyone says this but I truly love Beyonce, her work ethic is second to none. She encourages me to work hard as a woman and to always be a perfectionist in all that I do. She’s fierce and has become very unapologetic whilst still remaining graceful. I would love to have an honest sit down dinner with her where she tells me how she built this great empire. #BeyhiveForever *cardi b voice*.
