INTERVIEW WITH DARA O

I'm a Child of God, Wife and mother 24/7- 365, in between all of that I write and I'm secretly working on an exciting fashion project.

1. What do you think was the tipping point that got you to where you are?

The tipping point was looking at a ten year jail sentence, escaping that I was compelled to share my story. Once I did that and saw the power it carried and how many people actually related to it male, female young and old, I went on to write and self publish my first book which went global in the first 24hrs!

2. Where does the passion for what you do come from?

I'm passionate about God...and what I do ultimately is about Him. So whether it's a book or fashion related, you can bet it's the passion of Christ that's the driving force.

3. If you had to commission an artist to draw success, what would it look like to you?

I'd commission the greatest artist of all time! G.O.D He's the only one who has successfully done all that He said He would do.....and He created me fearfully and wonderfully in His image with no mistakes.... Therefore success kinda looks like me LOL. (Can I even say that?!)

4. What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome to achieve what you have?

I had to overcome the need to feel in total control and procrastination. Writing my book made a lot of past hurts resurface and I didn't want to deal with it so I would procrastinate and find myself busy doing nothing. Writing a book that was going to cost a few thousand to release without actually having any money was something I had to leave solely in the hands of God. That was uncomfortable but it paid off!! 5. How did you raise awareness for what you do and how do you stay relevant?

Word of mouth, praying, fasting and social media. I don't pay attention to being relevant. I think trying to stay relevant can cause you to do things that you wouldn't normally do just to get attention or fit in. If God directs me to work on something, best believe He's going to shine the light on me too.
